Welcome to
The Lantern Room Library

Welcome to The Lantern Room Library, a quiet refuge for students of Library and Information Services and those who find solace in the pursuit of knowledge. Within these pages, learning is illuminated not by haste but by curiosity, a slow, thoughtful study shared among peers.
This space invites connection, reflection, and the gentle exchange of ideas. Together, we explore the many corners of librarianship, from archives and history to the evolving art of keeping knowledge alive. Here, community is built not through noise, but through the shared reverence for books, learning, and the quiet power of curiosity.

Nestled in the quiet landscapes of regional Victoria, where mist lingers over old stone buildings and the scent of rain mingles with paper and ink, The Lantern Room Library was born. This online haven invites you to explore the enchanting world of libraries, delving into their history, their shelves and the intricate art of preserving knowledge.
As a student of Library and Information Services at Box Hill Institute, I am drawn to the way books, archives, and digital spaces hold both memory and meaning. Yet, beyond the solitude of study lies the need for connection, a community of learners who share in curiosity and discovery. The Lantern Room Library offers a gathering place for such minds: a place to exchange ideas, support one another, and celebrate the shared pursuit of knowledge.
Here, curiosity is not hurried; it is cultivated, like dust gathering softly on a well-loved volume.

Inspiring Education

Empowering Minds
My journey has been shaped by a deep appreciation for learning, language, and the preservation of knowledge. I have worked in the early childhood sector for several years and hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Currently, I am midway through a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and also undertaking a Diploma of Library and Information Services through Box Hill Institute. These experiences have allowed me to engage with learners of all ages and strengthened my understanding of the intersection between education and librarianship.

Discover, Learn, Grow
My passions lie in early literacy development, archiving, and the ways libraries serve as bridges between history, education, and community. I am particularly interested in pre-literacy skills, the curation of knowledge, and exploring how learning and curiosity evolve across different settings. Through my work in early childhood education and high school environments, I have gained practical experience supporting learning and information literacy, which informs the content I share here. The Lantern Room Library reflects these interests, providing a space for peers to engage, explore, and grow together as emerging professionals.
